Anti-shaking spoon

ANTI SHAKING SPOON

CONTEXT

For several months, I worked with a team of 7 people to develop and create an anti-shaking spoon. This spoon allows people with essential tremor, a disease three times more common than Parkinson's disease but much less known. Thanks to this stabilised multi-purpose tool co-designed with patients, they can feed themselves without risk of tipping over thanks to two miniature servo-motors that compensate for their tremors, and thus limit their complexes when eating socially!

MODELISATION

To model our spoon, we used Onshape and iteratively changed the design of the spoon with the agile method in direct contact with the patients. We lightened the spoon, changed its size, its depth, etc...

CONSTRUCTION AND RESULT

We built our prototype in PLA using a 3D printer. To implement our algorithm allowing the spoon to stabilize, we used a micro arduino board. You can see below a demonstration of our final prototype.
