Half-bike
HALF BIKE
CONTEXT
During my studies at Centrale Lille, I took a course on plastic deformation manufacturing. During this course, we carried out a final project in groups of 6 students. This project consisted of modelling and manufacturing a half bike. We chose to make an advertising half bike for the Friterie Meunier brand, a well-known french fries company in the north of France.
MODELISATION
We modelled the half-bike using Catia5 and Onshape software. I learnt how to use the sheet metal
modul option of Onshape to make construction drawings adapted to the bending machine. You can see
some of these drawings below.
We also used the 3D printer to make some parts such as the bottle holder.
CONSTRUCTION AND RESULTS
We made our half bike from sheet metal and PLA. I learned how to cut, bend and manipulate metal using water jet cutters, bending machines and welding.
